WHEREAS the National Aeronautics and Space Administration has recently acquired facilities at Huntsville, Alabama, for space flight research and development; and WHEREAS these facilities are destined to play a major role in man's conquest of outer space and its utilization for peaceful purposes for the benefit of all mankind; and WHEREAS it is fitting that these facilities bear the name of a distinguished and revered American; and WHEREAS the late General of the Army George C. Marshall devoted his life to the service of his country and to the advancement of the cause of peace throughout the world: NOW, THEREFORE, by virtue of the authority vested in me as President of the United States, I hereby designate the facilities of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration at Huntsville, Alabama, as the George C.
