CANTON ISLAND AND ENDERBURY ISLAND By virtue of and pursuant to the authority vested in me as President of the United States, it is ordered that Canton Island, an atoll of coral formation, 50 to 600 yards wide and surrounding a lagoon about 9 miles long, which is located in the Pacific Ocean approximately in latitude 2°49' S. and longitude 171°43' W. from Greenwich; also Enderbury Island, 2.5 miles long and 1 mile wide, located in the Pacific Ocean approximately in latitude 3°07', S. and longitude 171°03' W. from Greenwich, be, and they are hereby reserved, set aside, and placed under the control and jurisdiction of the Secretary of the Interior for administrative purposes.
