By virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and Statutes, including the First War Powers Act, 1941, as President of the United States, it is hereby ordered as follows: The War Relocation Authority in the Office for Emergency Management of the Executive Office of the President and its functions, together with its records, property personnel, and unexpended balances of appropriations, allocations, and other funds, are transferred to the Department of the Interior and shall be administered as an organizational entity within the said Department. The functions of the Director of the War Relocation Authority are transferred to the Secretary of the Interior. The War Relocation Authority and the functions transferred by this order shall be administered by the said Secretary or under his supervision and direction through such officers, agents, and employees, of the War Relocation Authority, as he shall designate.
