By virtue of the authority vested in me by Section 210(b) of the Public Health Service Act (58 Stat. 687) as amended by Public Law 425, 80th Congress approved February 28, 1948, it is hereby ordered as follows: Commissioned officers of the Regular Corps of the Public Health Service in the nurse, dietitian, and therapist categories shall be permanently promoted to the full and senior grades only if vacancies exist in such grades, and commissioned officers of the Regular Corps of the Public Health Service in the pharmacist and sanitarian categories shall be permanently promoted to the senior grade only if vacancies exist in such grade.
